Tri Chi Bid Day 2013

These are my favorite pictures from bid day. I loved the sunlight! It really made for some cute pictures. The black and white one had a really interesting focus. At first I was thinking that it didn't turned out, but I think the balloons are in focus(?) or something. It turned out a little more artistic then the others, but I still love it.

only sunlight

I took this picture exploring an old barn that belonged to my great grandpa. I really like the way it shows how the sunlight effects the inside of the barn.

walk

This is a picture is from a photo shoot I did with my little sister a while ago. I added a few antique looking filters.

ice storm

This might have been one of the most memorable christmas breaks ever. These are pictures from an ice storm that left my house without power for almost 4 days. I did get some good pictures though :) I love how the sun is reflecting off the ice and making the branches brighter. I took these pictures first thing the morning after the storm so some of the snow had not melted. In the first picture I love how you can see the difference between the ice that the sun has reached, and the snow that is still white from the cold.

three lights

This picture was taken from a bridge in my home town. I love the colors and the reflections.

lava cliffs

This picture I took a few summers ago at the Rocky Mountain National Forest in Colorado. They are lava cliffs. They were formed by a violent explosion like 28 million years ago. I really like how the shadow looks.

make a wish

My favorite part of this picture is the white. Dandelions remind me so much of playing outside when I was younger. I took this picture last summer.

13 December 2012

fall leaves

This photo was taken at the same park as the one in my last post. It almost looks like the leaves are wrapping around the sunlight. I love the way the sunlights reflects off the leaves.

12 December 2012

sunset

This picture I took a while ago at a park near my house. I love the contrast of the black trees and the sun. It was late in the after noon so the sunset makes the color of the sky really pretty.

11 December 2012

christmas lights

This was taken at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We went at night to see the christmas lights. I was so excited that I could catch them on camera. I love how the christmas lights show up.

downtown

Here are a few pictures I took with my friends this weekend. These pictures ware hard to take because I had to be in them.

07 December 2012

pink rose

I really like the way these pink roses are faded. This was taken in the summer in a garden in Colorado.

on the bridge

This is a picture of one of my very best friends. I like the effect from the wind, and the lighting from the street lamps. This was taken on a foot bridge going over a dam.

06 December 2012

built-up snow

More Snow! This tree is in my grandparents back yard. When it shows the snow builds up on the branches it is so pretty.

05 December 2012

clouds

This picture was taken at a farm in Wisconsin. I love the way the sun reflected in the clouds and contrasts with the barn. This was taken in the summer.

04 December 2012

railroad cars

This is a train track by my house. I love doing photo shoots here. The railroad creates a leading line and the cars add so much color. I added some saturation to make the colors brighter. This picture was taken during the summer.

03 December 2012

snow

It's December! This picture was taken across the street from my house. I love how the red and the white look. Snow is fun to photograph because it makes the scenery look so pretty.

01 December 2012

flowers in the garden

More flowers! this is from the garden in Colorado :) I love the way the sun is shining on the flowers. I also like the pattern of the fence in the background. This was taken in the summer.

rocks in a river

This picture is one of my favorites. I absolutely LOVE the rocks in this picture. This was taken in Colorado during the summer, but I don't remember what river it was by. The river had a lot of rapids (?).  I'm not sure what the term is, but I saw white water rafters go by while we were there. On the shore the water was calm and clear. In this picture I was trying to show the contrast.

30 November 2012

flowers from a greenhouse

I love taking pictures of flowers almost as much as I do bridges :) these were taken at an Amish farm in Wisconsin. They had a greenhouse that was full of blooming flowers. It was really awesome to meet them and get to see their house.
